Marvel s Avengers Spider-Man DLC Seemingly Delayed

Marvel s Avengers fans might have to wait a bit longer before Spider-Man is added as one of the playable characters in the PlayStation versions of the game. Stickers on the title s PS4 physical release originally stated DLC available early 2021, but the PlayStation 5 physical release has a sticker that drops the word early. This doesn t necessarily confirm that the DLC has been pushed back, but it certainly seems like an intentional change by publisher Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics. For now, fans will just have to wait patiently for some kind of official announcement from the two!
Marvel s Avengers Reveals New Hawkeye Details

Marvel s Avengers next playable hero Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, we did recently get some new details on the famed archer as part of a developer gameplay stream from Crystal Dynamics. There s no new footage, but it did provide better insight as to how Clint will play and more importantly how he will differ from the previous hero, Kate Bishop, and it starts off with their arsenal of bows, arrows, and swords.
Clint and Kate both have swords, but according to the developers, the differences will be immediately noticeable, as Clint even swings his sword differently than Kate. He also has different skills and of course different Heroics to utilize in gameplay, and his traversal will be different since Kate can teleport (or blink) and Clint has no such ability.
Marvel s Avengers Next-Gen Release Date Coming Soon

Marvel s Avengers fans have been eager to find out the release dates for the upcoming next-gen versions of the game, which were slated to originally come out last year but were pushed back in order to work on fixes and updates to the core game. The game is playable on both PS5 and Xbox Series X at the moment, but it hasn t been optimized for either console, though now we know when we ll find out the exact release dates for both of those optimized versions, and it s right around the corner.
Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics recently revealed that the next War Table will focus on Hawkeye s Future Imperfect story content, and the War Table will take place on February 16th. The good news is that we will also find out the next-gen release date during that event, something the developers confirmed during a recent gameplay live stream (via @PlayAvenger).
Marvel’s Avengers arrived with great fanfare earlier this year, promising to let gamers take control of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and live out their MCU dreams. Sadly, however, it didn’t work out like publisher Square Enix had hoped. Despite a moderately entertaining single player campaign starring Ms. Marvel, the meat of the game turned out to be an extremely repetitive online brawler in which you beat up boring robots for samey cosmetics.
It launched to mixed reviews and players paid attention, resulting in the title being largely responsible for Square posting an estimated loss of around $63M. Now, four months on from its release, there are only around a thousand people playing it any one time – a 96% drop – meaning it’s effectively on life support.
Marvel s Avengers Seems to Be Teasing a New Character

Marvel s Avengers players are still enjoying the newest addition to the game s roster Kate Bishop, but it is already known that more heroes are headed to the game at some point as Hawkeye and Spider-Man already confirmed with heroes like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and more heavily rumored. Now it seems the game itself is teasing one of those new heroes as the official website has added a new, unrevealed hero to the game s roster page, with a coming soon in the place where an image and name would usually be. Now, this is most likely Hawkeye, as he is seen in Bishop s story content and is expected to hit early next year, and hopefully, this means we ll get even more information about him soon.
