The stretch of road from Ave-Dakpa in the Akatsi North District to Akatsi in the Akatsi South District in the Volta Region is in a deplorable state following the recent rain.
The situation has therefore, affected the movements of people as well as farm produce across the markets in the two areas.
In view of that, the residents of the area have appealed to the government for the speedy construction of the stretch of road to boost economic and farming activities.

They said the situation in the area which was noted for the planting of maize, cassava, yam and tomatoes, and other food crops was negatively affecting economic activities in the area.

Some aggrieved Paramount Chiefs and stool fathers of the Ave Council of Chiefs in the Akatsi North District of the Volta Region have called on the public to disregard recent statements purported to have emanated from the Council and signed by its President Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V.
The Chiefs include, Torgbui Kwame Dogli II of Ave-Dzalele, Torgbui Gbodzekpor III of Ave-Afiadenyigba, Torgbui Adogo Agbalekpor IV of Ave-Hevi, Torgbui Ahiabor Gamor III of Ave-Havi and Torgbui Dzidenu Zoglo III of Ave-Dzadzepe.
According to the Chiefs, the statements which were issued by the Council’s President Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V, were overly political and do not represent the Council’s position.
The leadership of the Ave Council of Chiefs have commended President Akufo-Addo for nominating Dr Archibald Letsa as the Volta Regional Minister and Mr John-Peter Amewu as Minister of Railway Development.
A congratulatory message signed by Torgbui Nyamekor Glakpe V, President of Ave Council of Chiefs and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), congratulated President Akufo-Addo for a successful inauguration and swearing in for a second term as the President of the Republic.
The statement also expressed gratitude to the president for nominating the two from the Volta region as Ministers in his first list of Ministers presented to Parliament.
