The Russians have re-intensified their shelling of Avdiivka after the so-called lull. Since yesterday, they have increased the number of shellings and the frequency of air strikes.
Russian forces are still trying to encircle the heavily defended town of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, hitting it with everything they have, said Vitaliy Barabash, the head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration on Oct. 19.
Russian troops have continued with their offensive operations to encircle Avdiivka on 15 October but have failed to advance and slowed down the pace of operations in the area, although they may intensify their efforts to surround the city in the coming days.
A 58-year-old woman was killed in her yard when shells struck her home in the city of Avdiivka. On the same day, shelling in the village of Ocheretyne injured a 26-year-old man.
