At this time of year, The New York Times’ Travel desk usually publishes its lavish 52 Places to Go list, a compendium of suggestions for the destinations that are especially worth visiting in the coming year, accompanied by show-stopping photography. But in this pandemic year, creating our usual list was out of the question.
NYT nominates Turku as post-pandemic travel destination
The 52 destinations were chosen from over 2,000 suggestions by The New York Times readers.

The city of Turku in southwest Finland has been included in a list compiled by US newspaper The New York Times of cities to visit when the coronavirus crisis is over.
The list, comprising of 52 cities from across the globe, highlights the top destinations to visit as soon as the pandemic has ended.
The Aura River and the city s proximity to nature were picked as Turku s best features by
Avanti Chajed, a doctoral student living in the city.
