Grateful to not only supervisor avalos for his leadership but for the entire immigrant Rights Community. Also, the other communities Domestic Violence committed. I see Beverly Upton here. It is a Public Safety issue. I am so proud that its not just one Community Stand by itself, but is the entirety of the San Francisco diversity that saying we care about everyone and when ice goes after my neighbor theyre really going after me. When my neighbor is afraid to come forward and report crime, that makes me less safe. My hope is that we can get to a point where this will be a unanimous vote at the board of supervisors. I am hopeful, and i think that San Francisco needs to be the city that stands against we need to be the city that says secure committees goes against every value that we as a country have and it certainly goes against the idea that in San Francisco you are treated the same. It doesnt matter what your immigration status is. So thank you supervisor avalos. I look forward to this
100% prevailing wage. once we start to expand, we start to talk about a bill out in public works. i think it is good for san francisco. i am thinking given the makeup of this meeting, we re probably in a good enough position to have it supervisors avalos, campos, and mirkarimi to assist us in continue to get our arms around it in figuring out if it is 1000 jobs or two, because i do not think we of flesh that out yet. finding out the benefit in terms of putting people to work. i think we will figure it out soon enough across the hall. i just wanted to make sure i got that on the record. commissioner morand: moving towards the resolution in front of us, i am very hopeful we can move this item forward and get it to the mayor of the board. there are two issues that i would like to race, and the first was highlighted in the presentation. the question was whether we go out with a 30 megawatt program or 20 megawatt program. might inclination is to go to the smaller one my inclinat
issues that u.s. policy-makers will want to consider. >commissioner avalos: when we talk about reapying 19.5 million, that assumes how many customers? about 75,000 customers. to put that in comparison, we have 316 megawatts. this would be assuming megawatts of load. 75,000. because we are very good conservationists here in the city in use very little water, very little electricity on average, that is why the average bill impact is a very small number. commissioner avalos: we re not sure how long it would take to get to 75,000 customers? the assumption would be the noticing and invitation to be in it would be large enough so that we would end up with at least 75,000 to use 30 megawatts of load. that is one of the key points to the contract as well that mr. harrington said in previous meetings. we have tried to take a product that to mitigate risks and make the smallest startup costs as small as possible, we have tried to do that in a way that the risk of not being succes
vice-president mirand: this goes to the question of where does the money come from. in the case of the hetchy fund balance versus the general fund, those and that being the same thing. in that they re not courting money. we basically give everything that we generate to the general fund through discount rates. if we have to increase manciple ratunicipal rates in order to cr this, then it deprives the general fund of that money as well. it looks like the way to follow through is an reserves we have to front end any risk of that we carry, in essence, is a general fund obligation. did i get that right? i think that is a fair statement. slide 12 shows you what the magnitude of the problem was, regardless of whether cca is a good idea at this time or not. there are very few choices except for power rates and cutting costs. in the budget and 10-year capital plan that we performed presented, we are ready cut over $220 million worth of capital needs in the last 10- year capital pl
