Bedford County broadcasting executive Lloyd Roach has been named the new National Association for Amateur Radio state government liaison officer for Pennsylvania.
His appointment comes after a lifetime of managing and owning radio stations throughout Pennsylvania and parts of New York State. In the course of his business career, Roach has gotten to know many of Pennsylvaniaâs legislators and said he looks forward to working with them along with the executive branch.
In addition to his broadcasting duties, Roach has been active in the Bedford County Amateur Radio Society and currently serves as its public information officer.
Amateur radio operators work closely with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency as emergency communicators. That and other issues affecting the nearly 30,000 hams in Pennsylvania will be the focus of his activities as the ARRL government liaison.
