starts right now. i m pamela brown in washington. new developments tonight in the idaho murder investigation. for the first time we are hearing from the parents of the suspect in this case. 28-year-old bryan kohberger. he is facing four counts of first-degree murder in the brutal slayings of four young students. it is a shock to his family. cnn s veronica miracle has more on what the family is saying today. reporter: pamela, that family put out a statement through his public defender. his attorney. this is according to cnn and here s what it reads. it says, first and foremost, we care deeply for the four families that lost their children. we pray each day for them. we ll continue to let the legal process unfold and as a family love and support our son and brother. we have fully cooperated with law enforcement agencies in an attempt to seek the truth and promote his presumption of innocence rather than judge unknown facts and make assumptions. we respect privacy in the mat
