Suzuki Marks Indian Export Milestone Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the official name of Suzuki’s Indian operations has hit a new milestone: the export of two million vehicles. The milestone was marked by the export of three models the S-Presso, Swift, and Vitara Brezza which left the Mundra Port in Gujarat Province for South Africa (check out our Indian experience with Suzuki here). Maruti Suzuki commenced export of its vehicles back in 1986, and the first large consignment of 500 cars was shipped to Hungary in September 1987. With steady growth it had achieved its one millionth export unit by 2012, with 50 percent of these being sold to Europe.
