Offaly production company to temporarily shut over Brexit supply issues 10:29 Thursday, 04 February 2021 Share it A production company in Offaly is shutting down for three weeks due to supply chain issues caused by Brexit. Wilker Auto Conversions in Clara say the business will close from February 12th until March 8th and it will impact works on ambulances. The company say it started it’s Brexit preparedness in mid-2019 and hired an external company to ensure a smooth transition once the UK left the EU. They say work is underway to minimise the effects for its staff and is confident it is a worst-case scenario.

Offaly ambulance firm temporarily shuts due to Brexit supply issues ‘Key component’ shortages cause three-week shutdown of Wilker Auto Conversions Thu, Feb 4, 2021, 11:21 Updated: Thu, Feb 4, 2021, 11:22   A company in Co Offaly that converts ambulances for the Health Service Executive and other agencies said it has to shut down production for a three-week period due to supply-chain issues from Brexit. Shortages of “key component parts” needed for current and upcoming orders for ambulance and other vehicle conversions have led to the shutdown, a representative of the Wilker Auto Conversions plant in Clara said. Production will stop from Friday, February 12th, until Monday, March 8th, and the company is confident that “this is the worst-case scenario”.
