I think that’s true.
You know how they say adversity is the foundation of virtue?
I think that’s also pretty accurate.
I mean, after all, it’s like they ALSO say: “Into every life, a little rain must fall.”
Right? Right.
Then again, some rainfalls are a little more squall-ish than others. Hmpf.
Ahem. But that’s the beauty of adversity, I suppose. You know, because after the torrential downpour comes the rainbows and gorgeous flowers …
And wicked pollen. And sticky mud piles. And grimy windows and spattered siding. And flooded basements. And attic leaks. And muck-filled spouting. Grrr.

When talk focuses on the word “impeachment,” most people think about presidents but only three of the nation’s leaders have been impeached: Andrew Johnson in 1868, Bill Clinton in 1998, and Donald Trump in 2019 and again in 2021.
They are a small number of the 63 impeachment proceedings Congress has undertaken since 1789. More common is the impeachment of those who hold federal office, particularly judges including a Cass County man.
Mark W. Delahay, a lawyer and newspaper editor in the town of Virginia before the Civil War, is one of 20 officials impeached at the federal level.

A long time ago in Germany, a mother was cleaning for Christmas. Spiders fled up to the attic to escape the broom. On quiet Christmas Eve, the spiders slowly came down for a peek. “Oh, what a beautiful tree!”
In excitement, they scurried up and out along each branch. They were filled with happiness as they climbed amongst the glittering beauty. But alas! By the time they were done, the tree was shrouded in their dusty grey web.
When Santa came with gifts for the children and saw the tree covered with spider webs, he smiled because he saw how happy the spiders were but knew how heartbroken the mother would be if she saw it covered in dusty webs. So, he turned the webs to strands of silver and the tree was even more beautiful than before.
