VIENNA, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said on Thursday that there should be no geopolitical taboos when it comes to the approval of COVID-19 vaccines. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) should of course also examine the approval of Chinese or Russian vaccines as soon as they submit the application, said Kurz in a statement sent to the Austrian Press Agency.
Every additional vaccine that is effective and approved is important in the fight against the pandemic, said the chancellor.
The successes of the companies BioNTech/Pfizer and Moderna in the development of vaccines are just as important as those of AstraZeneca or of Russian or Chinese companies, he added.
