The conservative Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) of Chancellor Karl Nehammer on Friday announced an election program focused on tax cuts, a plan to fight irregular migration and better support for families. Following a corruption scandal that engulfed the ruling People's Party, Austria has its third conservative chancellor in two months after Karl Nehammer was sworn into office in Vienna.
Alexander Schallenberg has already met with President Alexander Van der Bellen and is set to be sworn in within days. The coalition between Kurz's Austrian People's Party and the Greens will, however, continue.
