The Battle of Crete & Greece Commemorative Council of Victoria together with the Cretan Brotherhood of Melbourne and Pancretan Association of Melbourne will be holding commemorative events next month.

The Greek Government bestowed the Greek Campaign medal upon Australian veterans who served in Greece during World War Two as a symbol of appreciation for the Australian veterans' significant contributions back in the early 1970s.
St John's College in Preston, Melbourne, joined the rest of the Greek community in celebrating OHI Day this past week. The College's commemoration sought to reflect, as the statement said: "the friendship between Australia and Greece during the school week and over the weekend."
The spirit of unity shone on Sunday, October 22, at the Australian Hellenic Memorial Foundation (AHMF) ceremony held at the Memorial in Domain Gardens, Melbourne. Attended by AHMF members, sponsors, and veterans, students from the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) were honoured for their contributions to the AHMF competition.
