Minister for Rural, Maritime Development and Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu says 32 schools in the Northern Division have been earmarked to be repaired by the RFMF and Australian Defence Force Engineers on board the HMAS Adelaide.
85 schools have suffered damages due to TC Yasa in the North and the Ministry of Education has completed all the detailed assessments on 75 schools.
Seruiratu says they are working together with the Education Ministry to meet the 18th January deadline.

Australian Defence Force Engineers supporting RFMF’s Blackrock project in Nadi have been deployed to assist with Fijian Government response efforts in the Northern Division following Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Captain Cameron Laing and Warrant Officer Liam Wardle are working with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, NDMO and RFMF to ensure all COVID-safe measures are in place to support the smooth insertion of HMAS Adelaide personnel to their working quarantine bubbles.
