The Albanese government announced the measure in its monthly budget on Sunday in hopes that it would ease economic pressure on workers and students, said Minister for Education Jason Clare in a statement.
“Yes, we want to make sure that students coming forward from reputable institutions will have a good experience in Australia," said Australian High Commissioner to India Philip Green OAM.
To avoid Australian visa rejection, student visa applicants must provide accurate information, demonstrate clear intentions to study, meet financial requirements, achieve required English scores, and seek professional assistance for a successful outcome.
Australia surpassed 700,000 international students for the first time as PM Albanese focuses on managing population levels, introducing measures like easing English requirements.
Australia’s visa approval rate has dropped drastically. Last year, it fell to 82 per cent. A raft of new regulations in relation to student visas was introduced by the government late last year.
