APD identifies officers involved in fatal February hostage situation

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department says that it currently plans to release a critical incident briefing video on a deadly officer-involved shooting in Northeast Austin in early February in two months.
APD says that it is still investigating the shooting that happened on Feb. 10 on Rogge Lane and they plan to release the video no later than June 4.
APD has also identified the two officers involved in the shooting as:
Officer Jeffrey Hutchison - 8 years of service with APD
Officer Ryan Nichols - 13 years of service with APD

A Caldwell County man was charged with several crimes earlier this month in connection with the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
The FBI on April 2 charged Andrew Morgan Jr., of Maxwell, with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, obstruction of an official proceeding, and aiding and abetting.
Someone shared a video through the FBI s tip line, and FBI investigators determined that Morgan filmed himself entering the Capitol during the insurrection. Morgan is the creator of a YouTube channel called “Political Trance Tribune, and he uploaded the video before he made it private, his arrest affidavit says.
