Dedicated dad hopes to run down cure for a rare disease A father of two boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy is running the Austin Marathon to raise funds toward pursuit of a cure for the rare, fatal disease.
When doctors diagnosed Tim Revell’s sons were diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Timothy, at age two, Andrew at five), they didn’t give the Austin dad much hope. The rare, which affects one in 3,500 boys, is 100% fatal.
However, Revell and his family refused to give up hope. He and his wife Laura rolled up their sleeves and began researching the insidious rare disease and looked for organizations and resources that they could connect with.
