Money Left on the Table? By SleepingKogoro on Dec 20, 2020, 2:24pm EST 1
For my second opinion piece in this series, I present WWF s drastic misuse/bad booking of one of, if not the greatest super-heavyweight of all time. Despite being a former 3x-IWGP Heavyweight Champion, and a former 3x-WCW World Heavyweight Champion; not only was Vader never a WWF World Heavyweight Champion, he never even won a title during his 1996 - 1998 run with the company (though he did win a Slammy).
During this short stint, Vader was only in the vicinity of the WWF title twice. First during a brief feud with then champion Shawn Michaels. On paper Vader should come out of this match as the new champ, but it didn t happen. Despite their 1996 SummerSlam match being restarted twice after HBK was first counted out, then disqualified; Vader would eventually be pinned by Michaels. I suppose this was due in large part to backstage politics involving The Kliq. I could be wrong, but see no other via
