The oral history of Austin Theordore Flagg

Austin Flagg exuded the stateliness born of years in the military. He served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, rising from private to the rank of colonel. He retired from the Army in 1976, after serving as professor of military science at Pittsburg State University but continued at PSU as the personnel director until 1989. During Flagg’s military career, he fought in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. What follows are Colonel Flagg’s own words as recorded by PHS students Glen Powell and Angela Troth in January 1989.

Eight graduate from second MWCC paramedic program

Pinning ceremony took place on Thursday, May 20, Staff report GARDNER – The Paramedic Technology Program at Mount Wachusett Community College welcomed eight new practitioners to the profession during a pinning ceremony on Thursday, May 20. This is the second class of students to graduate from MWCC’s paramedic program. Peter H. Laitinen, Paramedic Program director, congratulated the students and recognized them for perseverance despite the interruptions to their clinical placements caused by the pandemic. “I am so proud to call you alumni of the Mount and look forward to seeing you in the field,” Laitinen said. MWCC President James Vander Hooven called the accomplishments of the class remarkable.
