Reporter university as well as Boulder Police say they repeatedly asked the man to drop his weapon. When he didnt, an officer fatally shot the suspects. No one else was hurt. Given the weapon that the suspect was armed with, given the statements already made to our initial victim, and given the nature of how he was maneuvering through the champion center, we believe that it was in the best in reporter just a couple hours after police sent the all clear text, another harmer incident was reported at the umc building on the west side of campus. Police were coming into the building with guns drawn. And shortly after that we got a tweet that said it seemed like it was a hoax. Reporter police in this afternoon briefing told us that incident at the umc was all due to a false report. Remain closed tonight. As for the officers involved in the shooting this morning, they have both been put on administrative leave which is part of protocol for both departments and the identities of the patient as
Machete. Multiple officers from Campus Police and the Boulder Police department responded. One officer from each of those agencies fired at the man when he allegedly would not obey the command, to drop the weapon. At this time the suspect is not known to the police. We are still working on properly identifying him. Reporter this afternoon 911 was called again for a man with a gun in front of a starbuck that was the coffee shop on University Hill or one inside the University Memorial center which is on campus. So that building was put on another active shooter situation. And many people fled in the chaos. In the end, no threats were found. A Boulder County joint Investigation Team is now looking into this officer involved shooting. We do not know the identity of the man who was allegedly carrying that weapon.
