Solve Care adds India to its global telehealth network

(Photo by insta photos/Shutterstock) Health technology company Solve.Care has announced the expansion of its Global Telehealth Exchange, a virtual health service platform, to India. The GTHE, built on blockchain technology, serves as a global directory where doctors who have undergone a strict verification process can join and offer their services to patients anywhere around the world. The rollout of GTHE will be done through Solve.Care’s partnership with Healthlink Technologies based in Maharashtra; the latter will ensure regulatory compliance and verification of doctors. WHY IT MATTERS In March last year, the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued new guidelines for telemedicine practice which boosted the use of telehealth services in the country. Currently, the country has a doctor-to-patient ratio of 1:1000, which is below the World Health Organization’s recommended ratio.

Visa and Plaid Announce Mutual Termination of Merger Agreement

Visa and Plaid Announce Mutual Termination of Merger Agreement Visa and Plaid Announce Mutual Termination of Merger Agreement Visa Inc. (NYSE: V) and Plaid today announced that the companies have terminated their merger agreement and agreed with the Department of Justice to dismiss the litigation related to the proposed transaction. The proposed transaction was first announced on January 13, 2020. We are confident we would have prevailed in court as Plaids capabilities are complementary to Visas, not competitive, said Al Kelly, Chairman and CEO of Visa Inc. We believe the combination of Visa with Plaid would have delivered significant benefits, including greater innovation for developers, financial institutions and consumers. However, it has been a full year since we first announced our intent to acquire Plaid, and protracted and complex litigation will likely take substantial time to fully resolve.
