A society influenced by modernity and science should be able to ask critical questions. Yet, religious leaders influence every sphere of life in India.

Before flagging off the fifth and final leg of BJP’s ‘Poriborton Yatra’ in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid a visit to the Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Kolkata. He also visited two other ashrams in the state on the first day of his Bengal visit.
Commenting on why Shah chose to visit the Bharat Sevashram Sangha, BJP leader Tathagata Roy said, “Amit Shah is a very religious person and it is in that connection I presume that he came to visit the Bharat Sevasham Sangha, which has a very significant imprint on his life. In Ahmedabad, he used to visit Swami Ganeshanand ji, who has a big imprint on his life.”
