父が、将棋好きで、子どもの頃よく対局は見ていました。今でも覚えている対局があるのですが、対局中に時間を計っている人が寝てしまって。対局している2人が、目を合わせて笑う瞬間を映像で見たことがあるんです。その時僕は、この人たちしか立ち入ることのできない世界が将棋にはあるんだなってすごく感動したんですよ。2人が目で合図を送り合って笑う瞬間っていうのが、個人戦なのに、対局を一緒に作りあげているという関係性がそこにはあって。将棋は、関係性の競技なのかなとその時に感じました。
