Lima, Apr 18 (Prensa Latina) Five soldiers killed and two missing was caused by the fall of a helicopter into the Urubamba River, in the South American region of Cusco, due to mechanical damage, according to Joint Command of Peruvian Armed Forces.
The helicopter transporting Army and Navy troops in an anti-drug reconnaissance operation, when it rushed into the river and five of them survived.
The Army Non-Commissioned Officers Jhon Salazar, Javier Paredes and Santiago and Navy Non-Commissioned Officers Yhoni Solano and Víctor Carpopata passed away in the crash, and Captain Fabrizzio Soto and Non-Commissioned Officer Marco Guerra, both of the Army, are still missing.
