honor rally. we had al sharpton on earlier. now, al sharpton had this rally on this date, the 28th day of august for years because it s the same day that martin luther king, jr. gave his i have a dream speech. you coincidentally picked it off a calendar because it was the mall was available. the 9-11 group scheduled a rally like last year at 9-12 o sunday. i didn t want to do it on a sunday, which left saturday open. saturday is 9-11. that s clearly a date that pops to everybody s mind as an inappropriate date to do something that was a rally. we picked august 28, it was open in my schedule, open in the park and we could get the entire mall because we didn t know exactly what we were going to do at the time and i wanted to make sure we had enough buffer, because i knew exactly what would happen. when i announced it, the new york times blogged immediately that this was mlk day and i immediately said, oh, my gosh.
