Three Corners should give residents’ interests priority over tourism
Indian River County is going to spend up to $1.2 million in an effort to attract visitors to our area, and Vero Beach is going to do their part with the Three Corners development.
You may have noticed that Vero is booming in growth, with multiple new homes, expanded health care services with increased hospital/physicians capabilities, and enviable school and learning opportunities. Couple these with the natural attractions that surround us, and we have a situation that is to be envied.
The natural and responsible view would be to conclude that Vero s increasing permanent population would take priority over the tourism potential. With the Three Corners site we have been given an unbelievable opportunity to wisely and creatively use waterfront property, which should be directed to local current and future needs.
