Stuart E. âStuâ Northrop
Stuart E. “Stu” Northrop, 96, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Springdale Avenue, Jamestown, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 in Florida.
A native of Jamestown, he was born June 3, 1924, the son of the late Clarence “Rusty” and Audrey Curtis Northrop.
He was a 1942 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Stuart was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist’s mate second class and as a nose gunner until the end of the war and honorable discharged in 1946.
Prior to his retirement in 2001, he and his wife owned and operated the Christian Book Cellar for 17 years. He had also worked at Stateside Motors for 26 years as sales manager.
