He was 5-under after 10 when things started to spiral. He made two double bogeys, on Nos. 11 and 14, leaving him so frustrated he just wanted the round to end. Saturday, back on the same course, Knowles got his chance at redemption and built on his third-round lead, finishing the day with a 5-under 67 to win by two strokes and clinch the Forme Tour’s Auburn University Club Invitational title.

I made a lot of birdies the last couple of days but was just plagued by some squares on the scorecard,” he said of his bogeys. “I kept it clean today, which was nice. I’ve improved every day and this golf course sets up really well for me.”

The Forme Tour, which provides a path to the Korn Ferry Tour for the season’s top finishers and offers Official World Golf Ranking points, will begin in late-June and conclude the second week of September.
