BRIDGEPORT A man serving 55 years for murder claims police are responsible for his car being stolen from the police department’s lot.
Xavier Rivera, who was sentenced in December 2018, filed suit Thursday in Superior Court against former Police Chief Armando Perez and Det. Jorge Cintron.
“The defendants were supposed to return the plaintiff’s car after they found no evidence but failed to do so,” the hand-written lawsuit states.
Rivera, who is representing himself, lists his address as Suffield. He is incarcerated at the MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution there.
