Alexis Whitehead was driving 132 mph and with a blood alcohol level that was two times the legal limit when she crashed her car in the Larchmont area of Hampton Boulevard in September 2021. Killed in the crash was Whitehead's close friend and fellow sailor, Nitanjae Terry.
James "Duke" Johnson, Jr. died a year and two months after being run down by his wife in a parking lot of the Janaf Shopping Center in Norfolk in August 2020. Relatives testified in court Friday that the couple had a highly toxic and volatile relationship for many years.
