Prof Rajendra Bihari Lal, the vice-chancellor of Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology, and Sciences (SHUATS), was arrested in an attempt to murder case. The arrest is in connection with a case registered at Naini police station. SHUATS is a government-aided minority institution established in 1910.
In September, Prayagraj police booked the VC and the administrative officer of the agriculture university for allegedly luring a woman and her family members to adopt Christianity and forcing others to change their religion, officials said.
It was alleged in the case that Khan, his son & relatives threatened a neighbour to vacate a plot of land, after which police filed a charge sheet against them. | Latest News India
