gruesome attacky a grizzly bear at a campground outside of yellowstone national park. one person was killed, two others were injured, including a canadian woman who was bitten on her arm and leg. is he survived the attack by playing dead. reporter: bear cages carrying a momma grizzly and her through cubs arrived at fish and game headquarters in montana and authorities euthanized the grizzly friday after dna confirmed it attacked campers in the national forest near yellowstone national park earlier this week. i felt the bear attack my arm. i hadn t even moved. reporter: februadeb freele c face to face with a 400-pound grizzly bear. she clasped down really hard. i screamed. she clachd down harder. i creamed some more. she was shaking me, ripping me out of the tent. reporter: freele had the amazing presence of mind to play dead. and i went totally limp, didn t say a word. the bear is chewing on me.
and after a few seconds she let me go and walked away. reporter: it let freele go but also attacked ronald singer. he managed to escape but not before the bear bit his leg. i punched it a couple times, it backed off, growled and ran off. reporter: a 911 call was placed minutes later. the caller astonishingly calm. my daughter s boyfriend got bit by a bear a little bit ago. there s another lady down there that s screaming. i don t know if she got bit orren. and it was a bear? and it was a bear. reporter: but for 48-year-old kevin kammer from grand rapids, michigan, it was too late. he was found mauled to death near his tent. after the attacks wildlife officials is set a trap and captured the offending grizzly bear and her three cubs. attacks by grizzlies are rare. since 1900, 108 people have been killed. each year on average 35 people
