with a missile. involved in the infamous attack on snake island when the sailors there said some nasty things to that ship. the kremlin is denying the missile strike. i m told this morning the ukrainian military shared its assessment with the u.s. military. russian state tv in southeastern ukraine where russian state media claims more than 1,000 ukrainian marines surrendered to russian forces in mariupol. ukraine is denying this report and cnn cannot identify the authenticity of this just yet. john kirby said russia has not yet taken control of mariupol. it s being contested and that s one of the reasons why we re signing out yet another package of $800 million of security assistance to go to ukraine to better defend themselves. at some points, it only takes a matter of, less than a week from
they hide away in russia. they hide away by territory. nonetheless, there is two possibilities here. one is that there are low level perpetrators, ground perpetrators who detain by the ukrainians right now. prisoners of war. and then secondly, we have to rely upon our own patience, build the cases now, and prosecute them later. and as i always say, international justice has a long reach. we may not expect prosecutors an prosecutions now, but in the future, i have no doubt, there will be senior members of the russian regime on trial. you have said the best path is for a ukrainian effort. ukrainian-led effort as opposed to international organizations. why is that? there s a functioning prosecution service here, who
