Federal Prosecutor Opens Excessive Force Investigation Into the Death of Ashley Babbitt: Report
Michael Sherwin, acting U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said that his office has started a federal, excessive force investigation over the shooting and killing of former U.S. Air Force veteran Ashley Babbitt in the Capitol on Jan. 6.
His civil rights section will lead the prosecution, which is being investigated by D.C. police and the FBI.
A Department of Justice spokesperson confirmed to The Epoch Times: “The Metropolitan Police Department is conducting an investigation into the officer involved shooting that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. This is routine, standard procedure whenever an officer deploys lethal force. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia is overseeing the investigation.”

Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - The top federal prosecutor in Minnesota is pledging to bring charges against any Minnesotan who participated in the storming of the US Capitol on Wednesday.
Erica MacDonald, the US Attorney for Minnesota, and FBI Special Agent In Charge Michael Paul issued a joint statement today condemning the violence and acts of terror that took place at and near the Capitol building and described it as a reprehensible affront to our institution of democracy. Both law enforcement officials stated they are committed to upholding the rule of law and will hold accountable any individual who traveled from Minnesota to commit illegal and violent acts.
