Former Indiana Inspector General Cyndi Carrasco was selected overwhelmingly by a caucus of Republican precinct committee members Wednesday to fill the remainder of the late Jack Sandlin’s term in the Indiana Senate.
Officials with the Indiana Republican Party will host a caucus to fill the vacancy of the seat formally held by State Sen. Jack Sandlin, who recently died.
Indiana State Senate District 36, which includes portions of Marion County and northern Johnson County, was vacated last month after the unexpected death of Sen. Jack Sandlin, a longtime public servant.
