Prominent republicans. The president called on Republican Leaders to not only repudiate trumps statements but also his candidacy itself. Quote, there has to come a point he said at which you say enough. I think whats been interesting is the repeated denunciations of his statements by leading republicans. The question i think that they have to ask themselves is if you are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him . What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer . There has to be a point at which you say this is not somebody i can support for president of the United States. Trump responded later in a statement. He questioned the leadership of president obama and Hillary Clinton. He said obama and clinton have singlehandedly destabilized the middle east, handed iraq, libya and syria to isis and allowed our personnel to be slaughtered in benghazi. They have produced the worst recovery since th
After attacking decorated war veteran with a racially charged comment. And a pipeline protest crackdown, more overnight after authorities arrested more than 100 native americans protesting the controversial pipeline in north dakota. Now the demonstrators and police say theres no end in sight. Good morning, everyone. Im tam tron hall. Coming live from our msnbc headquarters in new york. 12 days the go until the the preside president ial election. Hillary clinton holds the lead in two new national polls. Pew research has her up and new abc news has up her by 4. In early voting, more than 13. 7 million ballots have already been cast nationwide and some key battleground states, the number of democrats versus republicans turning out is virtually neck and neck. In arizona, democrats make up 36 of early voters so far. 38 have been republicans. And in florida, its evenly split with democrats and republicans both making up 41 of early voters in that state. Good evening from new york. Im chris hayes. On the final International Trip of his presidency, president obama has been sending a message to at least two very different audiences. Two our allies around the globe, concerned about the wildcard americans just elected as their next president. And to the president elect, himself, now in the thick of the transition process, ostensibly laying out a vision for his term in office. In berlin today, at a joint press conference with german chancellor angela merkel, president obama specifically urged his successor to stand up to russia on key points of disagreement. My hope is that the president elect coming in takes a similarly constructive approach, finding areas where we can cooperate with russia, where our values and interests align, but that the president elect also is willing to stand up to russia where they are deviating from our values and international norms. That will be something that i think well learn more about as the president elect
Debate on september 26th . It feels like a lifetime ago, wasnt it . It was really three weeks ago. Trump was on the verge of being normalized by the rest of Republican Party. Trump clinton deadlocked before the key debate. Drummed clinton deadlocked in colorado, pennsylvania. Before that faceoff, the campaign were saying, just you wait. Clearly no matter what poll you look at, trump is moving in the right direction. Hes been disciplined with his message, i think hes been doing very well across the country. I would not underestimate trump in these debates. Your own nbc polls said he won that debate. She has a lot of explaining to do. Hes going to confound all skpeks tagtss as he did throughout the primary season. Clinton has benefited more from the debate so far than trump has. 31 of voters said the last two president ial debates made them more likely to vote for clinton the debates made them more likely to vote for trump. 52 said the debates have made no difference. The negative impact
Russia. Well hear from the president s feeling in a News Conference within the hour. And the president says he confronted president Vladimir Putin about the Cyber Attacks. I think there is no doubt that when any Foreign Government tries to impact the integrity of our elections, that we need to take action, and we will at a time and place of our own choosing. Some of it may be explicit and publiciz publicized. Some of it may not be, but mr. Putin is well aware of my feelings about this, because i spoke to him directly about it. On the political front, Hillary Clinton weighs in on the hacking. She says it was part of Vladimir Putins grudge against her. And russias election interference racreated rift between the imcoming and outgoing president relations. And president elect trump is skepticing. Get more from our reporters.
