Perkins Eastman has worked in New York, Baltimore, D.C.
Months of vetting has led Mayor John Cooper and his team at the Metro Planning Department to land on the firm renowned for its work on New York’s Battery Park to spearhead the master development plan that will revamp the Cumberland River’s East Bank.

last fall said that Planning was looking to hire a consultant to help redesign and repurpose the East Bank’s 338 acres in a way that would better serve its entire community. On Tuesday, the mayor announced the consulting firm will be Perkins Eastman. Along with its work on Battery Park City, that company also has worked on high-profile projects such as Baltimore’s Inner Harbor East and the District Wharf in Washington, D.C. In Nashville, Perkins Eastman will collaborate with local contractors that include Hodgson Douglas, Pillars Development and WSP.
