Wilderness Safaris and White Desert have come together to design a series of joint itineraries highlighting the best of Africa and Antarctica. Through this partnership, the companies’ shared guests will enjoy awe-inspiring experiences, designed to highlight the best of what Wilderness Safaris and White Desert have to offer. The first two itineraries are set to take place in November and December 2021.
The first itinerary, Legendary Landscapes: Antarctica and Botswana, is a 15-day journey that will take place from November 22 to December 6, exploring the highlights of Cape Town, Antarctica and Botswana. After two nights at the Cape Grace Hotel, a maximum of 12 guests will depart on a private jet to White Desert’s brand-new Wolf’s Fang Camp.

Lucia Griggi has always enjoyed the outdoor life. In the first part of her 20-year career she established herself as one of the world’s leading surfing photographers, but more recently has turned her attention to travel, nature and conservation.
Based in Cornwall, she divides her time between commercial and editorial work, with clients including National Geographic, Warner Brothers and the BBC. She is also a guest lecturer at the University of Falmouth. She has won several photographic prizes including the National Geographic Traveller Award.

This technology is a step forward for future space missions
One of the challenges to colonize other planets and establish human settlements, starting with the planets closest to Earth in our Solar System, such as Mars, is to guarantee food for their future inhabitants. Since these planets have different atmospheric conditions than Earth, the fresh produce would have to be grown in greenhouses with a controlled atmosphere. The development of technologies based on artificial intelligence and computer vision for the automation of agricultural tasks in these types of greenhouses is one of the priority research objectives for future missions on Mars.

He spent nearly 15 uninterrupted months working at the Neumayer-Station III, close to Atka Bay, where 10,000 emperor penguins gather each year.
