SAN ANTONIO In an effort to curb violence, San Antonio’s health department is offering a training course for employers to better relate to their employees.
Connie Soria coaches employers through this course that teaches about trauma informed care. That’s a methodology that addresses a person’s inner child and trauma a person may have experienced when they were young.
“Instead of asking, ‘what’s wrong with you,’ we turn that around and ask, ‘what has happened to you?’” said Soria.
By understanding what trauma informed care is, Soria says employers can address behaviors in their employers in an empathetic way.
