ATHENS - The appearance of South African and British strains of COVID-19 has Greek health officials anxious whether they will put a twist in plans to rein in the pandemic, although the first vaccines seem to be effective against them.
As of Feb. 1, authorities said there were 173 cases of the variant from the United Kingdom, which reportedly started there with a lockdown party and one case of the South African variant in Thessaloniki, said Kathimerini.
