Elected officials and representatives of Israel's Arab minority demonstrated in Jerusalem on Tuesday against the crime plaguing their communities, calling on the government to increase security, an AFP reporter said.
Around 50 current and former members of parliament, as well as municipal representatives and Jewish supporters, gathered in a tent in front of the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a sit-in that began Monday.
"The police are complicit in the crime", read a large banner hanging in the tent in Arabic, Hebrew and English.
Just hours after Pakistan's ruling coalition rejected Imran Khan's offer for dialogue, the former prime minister on Sunday (May 28th), in a video message to the masses, urged authorities to "break as many Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members for the next three to four weeks but announce elections afterwards."
"Don't destroy the country just to keep Imran Khan out of politics, destroy as many people as you want to destroy quickly and don't waste time, announce immediate elections to save the country."
Myanmar's military junta on Friday said the death toll from Cyclone Mocha has reached 145. Most of the dead, as per the news agency AFP, belong to the persecuted Rohingya minority. In a statement, the junta said that out of the 145 dead, 24 were locals, four were soldiers and the rest 117 were "Bengalis" a pejorative term for the Rohingya.
"Altogether 145 local people were killed during the cyclone," said the authorities in a statement.

At least three people have been killed, and nine others have gotten injured in an avalanche in Nepal's Karnali province.
Local media reports show that the incident took place on Saturday morning at Chyarkhu Pass in the Mugu district of the province.
Citing officials, the Kathmandu Post, reported that 14 people from Patarasi municipality in the district had gone to Chyarkhu to collect Yarshagumba (caterpillar fungus) when the avalanche happened. Of them, three died and the remaining nine sustained minor injuries in the natural disaster.
