The trial continues Tuesday for Charlie Adelson, who is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of Florida State University professor Daniel Markel on July 19, 2014, in Tallahassee.
"The purpose of the criminal justice system is to promote an orderly and safe society through imposing consequences for those who break our laws. Here, the defendants have elected to use the criminal justice system to amplify their political agenda," wrote State Attorney Jack Campbell.
