Deadline is June 30 The city council is urging applicants to the EU Settlement Scheme to seek any support they might need in time for the June 30 deadline. Residents who are European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss citizens, or their family members, need to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) to protect their rights while living in the UK. If they do not apply by this deadline they could lose their existing rights to live, work, and access free healthcare in the UK. Oxford-based charity Asylum Welcome, working with the City Council, is now providing an independent and confidential service offering free support and advice to applicants.

The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Mark Lygo, is hosting a European Reception online on Sunday 28 February at 1pm.
This is the first time the annual reception, to welcome Oxford residents who come from other European countries, has been online instead of in Oxford Town Hall.
The District Mayor of Bonn, Jochen Reeh-Schall and the Deputy Mayor of Wrocław, Jakub Mazur, from two of Oxford’s twin cities, will join the Lord Mayor of Oxford at the reception. The Mayors of Chipping Norton, Didcot and Faringdon, as well as the Mayors of Henley, Thame, Abingdon and Witney will also join the reception.
