Sundberg has been working with composite materials and 3-D printing which caught the attention of the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. The mechanical engineering student now can reach for the stars thanks to his research and the connections he will make with the ASF.
The award is only given to students with a “tremendous amount of potential,” former NASA astronaut Joe Tanner said, adding that he sees a bright future for NDSU student Jacob Sundberg.
