Sadly, the Lehigh Valley said goodbye to one of its tallest and most beloved residents.
The Lehigh Valley Zoo announced on Monday that Murphy, the 20-year-old Masai giraffe that was a resident of the zoo since 2017, died. The zoo’s Facebook page posted the announcement on Monday afternoon. “An iconic resident of the zoo, Murphy brought smiles to guests and staff through his lovable personality, charismatic presence and adorable ear wiggles,” the post said. “His loss will be greatly felt by the staff and guests who loved him dearly.”
