An Ondo State youth ambassador, Oluyemi Fasipe, has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to speedily investigate the alleged forgery of the signature of the ailing Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. Fasipe in a letter to the anti-graft agency said the allegation raised alarming concerns about the integrity of government institutions. SaharaReporters reported last Friday that a forensic report by the Association of Forensic Professionals of Nigeria (AFPON) confirmed that Governor Akeredolu’s signature was forged on an official document.
The Head of the Directorate of Research & Strategy, Act of Positive Transformation Initiative, Kolawole Johnson, has revealed that investigations established that the signature of the ailing Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, was forged in September, October, November and December. Johnson, who made the revelation on Thursday while speaking on Arise News Television’s ‘The Morning Show,’ said that the forgery of the governor's signature started around the end of September and October and gradually increased in November.
Nigeria’s secret police, Department of State Services (DSS), has commenced an investigation into the forgery of ailing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s signature on official documents. This follows the release of a forensic report by the Association of Forensic Professionals of Nigeria (AFPON). AFPON confirmed in the report that Akeredolu’s signature was forged on an official document. And there are indications that there may be more of such forgeries.
