Agriculture minister Dith Tina has invited interested Russian investors to look into the potential of Cambodian agricultural products, especially rubber and cashew nut, and possibly even export them back to their home market.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Dith Tina met with world cashew industry delegates and the Cambodia Cashew Federation (CCF) on March 30 to discuss the 2024 World Cashew Conference (WCC), which will be held in Siem Reap province.
Prime Minister Hun Sen on March 24 asked the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Ministry of Economy and Finance to put together a financing package to support the cashew nut industry’s ability to produce and export the commodity, with ambitions to turn the Kingdom into a top supplier at the global level.
The Cashew nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) and the Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which will allow Cambodian farmers to sell directly to Vietnamese processing plants and bypass the traditional brokers.
