FAIRMONT Martin County Commissioners heard form Jen Kahler, Executive Director for Kinship of Martin County on Monday, as well as Associate Director Katy Gonzalez. The pair gave a brief update concerning the youth mentoring program. Kahler noted that the program was able to match 14 mentors and Mentees in the midst of the pandemic in 2020.
“We’re thankful for all the nice weather we had and for all the people that were willing to meet with us in parks and shelters to do a lot of match meetings,” said Kahler. “As far as our numbers go, we’re currently at 31 percent of both our matches and our waiting list youth are from outside of Fairmont proper.”
