A Charleston woman accused of killing her boyfriend’s 20-year-old daughter in Jan. 5, 2023 is competent to stand trial, her attorney said in Kanawha County Circuit Court on June 3, 2024. Amber Kay Wymer, 43, has already pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge in the death of Abigail Marcinkowsky, 20.
A Detroit man was sentenced Monday, May 6, 2024, to 80 years in prison for the October 2021 murder of two Charleston women. Marquis Jermayne Goodman, 24, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder in February for shooting Bria Nicole White, 26, and Kytiana Belcher, 22. The two were found on Hunt Avenue and Grant Street, respectively.
Terry Kirby was sentenced to 20 years in connection with the fatal 2019 shooting of Glen McClure in Campbells Creek. Kirby pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and being a felon in possession of a firearm in November 2023. Kaitlyn McClure urged friends to keep her father s memory alive.
