Nearly 8,200 elementary students in the Hesperia Unified School District have returned to in-person instruction full time after more than a year of mostly remote learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fifteen elementary schools in the district transitioned back to on-campus instruction five days a week on Monday. With that said, HUSD s model is still considered hybrid due to a distance-learning option that remains available, Assistant Superintendent Robert McCollum told the Daily Press.
“We’re trying to maximize as much time as we can with the kids and our elementary teachers who are as of today taking it up a notch,” McCollum said. “We’re going to try to take advantage of the last 24 to 25 days that we have with them. A day with face-to-face instruction is critical for our students and teachers.”
